Big Bird

I'm not sure what the creators of Sesame Street modelled Big Bird upon, but the Great White Egret must surely have been a contender.

Somehow our youngest child, Jess, has turned 30 today.  She's also relatively recently achieved her Doctorate and become engaged, so its been an eventful time.  She and her boyfriend stopped overnight on their way to a birthday weekend with friends in Cornwall, so we got to congratulate her in person this morning.  They've left their windsurfers behind on this trip, but the car was full of surf boards and wet suits - surfing in Cornwall in February - rather them than me!
