Altar steps?

That's the name of this block - not sure why.

In Sweden, Z is still in hospital, having needed a transfusion for post-partum bleeding, and currently struggling to wake young Casper to feed.  She's in the right place to get help - I feel powerless.  Need to do things. 

I cut all the pieces for this yesterday.  Then went shopping this morning, so didn't get into the sewing room till mid afternoon.  Quite a complex piecing job, including Y seams.  8 altogether - on each side at the base of the largest wedge.  I'm happy with 5, 3 of them are definitely not quite right.
