Snowdrop Elwesii
We were back at the Arnside Market this morning! In spite of rather dreary weather most of our regulars turned out, and I was delighted to sell all of my pastries, a very good start to the season.
Last week, Lynne showed us her spring flowers including a rather unusual snowdrop which we greatly admired.. and by some strange coincidence Pam had one for sale this morning, the variety ‘Elwesii’. Interesting for its broad leaves and quite a strong sweet scent in the evening, although I’m not quite sure what that might attract, perhaps a Winter Moth :-).
Off to Cornwall in the morning and hoping for some spring sunshine.
