Diversity event

There was a great event at one of our secondary school. I attended with my new colleague, the school librarian and 2  school librarians from other schools.
There was a great marketplace with stalls for all sorts of things, We met someone amazing from  LGBT Youth Scotland, had a long conversation and exchange contacts - there is a lot of potential for collaboration.
The main event itself was pretty good and varied. As well as performances from pupils, there was also a talk by Jamie Andrew a Scottish mountaineer who despite have no hands or feet, still manages to climb high mountains. He is an amazing man and his talk was excellent. There was also a talk by Sir Geoff Palmer, Scotland's first black professor.
I wish there were more work like this in schools.
