Forget-Me-Not

Our oldest best friends - or is it best old friends? - took us for the most beauty-filled day at the National Trust property of Baddesley Clinton, in Warwickshire. Another day when difficult to choose the best blip, but this is of the churchyard, filled with bluebells and forget-me-nots.

The house is stunning - moated and built round a garden, with another walled garden off to one side, and fishponds and vegetable gardens - from which the soup was made that we had for lunch, with the most delicious bread and excellent coffee. There is even a used bookshop (from which H and I were hurriedly pulled away).

It was the home of the Ferrers family for 500 years, passing from father to son for 12 generations, and you can feel the friendliness and love put into the place. The last thing we saw was the farmer, with the help of two sheepdogs, penning up a load of sheep and lambs.

A wonderful, peaceful day. Now we are off for our second stint as Sutton Pastors - being a caring presence on the streets of Sutton until the early hours...
