Cyclone Gabrielle

Tropical cyclone Gabrielle is at this moment lashing down on the upper North Island. Moving towards Auckland and Western regions.
We are in no danger here in Christchurch but my father and two brothers all live in the
areas affected.
Hopefully the damage will be minimal over the next day or so. I’m in constant touch with Dad and the retirement village that he lives in has an evacuation plan etc. and is keeping the residents updated.

Ironically we had a fairly nice summers day here today!
