Until this week, I hadn't been in this part of Glasgow since L was born and I was surprised and delighted to find this George Wylie sculpture "Monument to Maternity" in the middle of Rottenrow Gardens which have been developed on the site of the Maternity Hospital.

I love George Wylie's humorous works and this is a lovely way to remember all the thousands of babies who were born here (including L). The students today were using it has a novel deckchair in the sunshine.
