A swoop of starlings

A day of tidying the garden including raking up leaves and removing the parts of the lawn killed by chafer grubs. The dead lawn filled one green bin and part of the next.   Grrrrr.

After re-filling the bird feeders I watched a large group of starlings swoop in, halving the feeder with mealworms in it in a matter of minutes.  Not quite a murmuration but there were a lot....
