Edinburgh surprises

Visited Saughton Park in Edinburgh today and found some surprises there. In a large glasshouse, there is this bronze bust of Mahatma Gandhi, marking the visit of the Prime Minister of India in 1997. Also in the same glasshouse (in the extras) are a Clivia, flowering well about 3 months earlier than I would have expected, and a fine crop of bananas. In Edinburgh in February?
