Full page spread
There is no village newsletter in January, so by the time the February edition reached our letterbox I had forgotten that back in December, when J's film won best animation at a disability film festival, we were asked to send some information and pictures. J was delighted to find she had been given a full page spread - we sent plenty of photos and information so that the editor could choose what she wanted to include, but had not really expected everything to be used, and the colour pages are a very recent innovation so it's an honour to be given a full one.
It was a quiet day, noteworthy mainly for all the nice things we ate. P made his excellent rosti for our brunch - a good way of working through a bit more of our sprouting potato harvest while it's still edible - and tasty hot and sour vegetable noodle soup for dinner, and in between J persuaded me to make our favourite chocolate peanut butter mug cake. It's really a basin cake, the recipes never fit in a mug, but it's an excellent way of conjuring up instant, comforting pudding in a microwave, and a terrible temptation to eat things I'm trying to avoid.
