Calçots

Ju does another of his bi-monthly Pyrenee hops and, what with it being February, comes with an armful of calçots bundled up in some radical left wing Spanish newspaper.

We were a random bunch of people.

Yorkshire Lynda bought her Philippe along.  He arrived in an old Renault van with a Banofee Pie. Lynda talks about him a lot; she'd told me he 's a chasseur and a rugby man and an all round pain in the arse...  What she'd left out was that he's a Michelin starred chef who'd trained at the Ritz and opened three restaurants in Yorkshire before coming back home to the Ariège.

This was timely because we'd overlooked the sauce romesco, so Philippe rustled up a concoction that in my hands would have been a glutinous mess, but his spun magic out of random things that linger in the fridge.
