Things I've learnt this week

1.  Hide the firelighters and the matches.  There are to be no more fires at #25 since Bobbo mistook the wood basket for the woodburner.

2.  The grief of losing an old friend.

3. When your old friend's husband asks to you to read Housman's On Bredon Hill at the crematoriam, don't look at him when you get to the winter verse.

4.  Get up in those hills as often as you possibly can.
