Resident jay

What is it about jays?  They're handsome, intelligent and fascinating to watch, but somehow we don't quite love them the way we love small birds, water birds or even raptors, do we.  Or maybe that's just me.  This one is a reserve resident, I'm seeing him a lot.  He was giving me the eye today, while stealing mealworms put out for the robins.  Well, I say 'stealing' but really I reckon he thought they were just put out for him!

Apart from that I had a long coffee with a friend and K and I walked Hazel together, which we haven't done for so long..  A really enjoyable day.
