Medieval Market Cross

Today we spent part of the day in the village of Castle Coombe.  This photograph shows the covered cross in the centre of the village.  In the late medieval period this village would have been wealthy as a result of the cloth trade.  This market cross monument and the local streets were used in the film War Horse and images of the film can be seen in the local church.
