(044) Astroblip
The evening sky was fantastic today with Jupiter and Venus shining brightly after sunset. Today's blip is a view of Jupiter and three moons, taken with a DSLR + 600mm lens. The picture here is a small part of the full frame and shows, from top to bottom, Io, Europa, Jupiter and Ganymede. Although the camera does well to pick up the light reflected from Europa, which is only about 3000km in diameter but over 500 million km distant, my binoculars give a far better view of the planet and moons.
