Bunkers

A pleasant Sunday outing, driving up to Bürersteig. This military bunker, part of a museum is at the start of the path up the Bürerhorn. The Bürerhorn viewpoint at 639m is above another entrance to the defense system, where at one time, after 1940, there were huge canons pointing north over the River Rhine. That wasn’t the actual top though, so dutifully we found the unmarked highest point, 670m. We then circumnavigated the hill, trying to spend as much time in the sun as possible.
Short but lovely walk, 4km, 200m of ascent, 1.5 hours.
