... although we did make a visit there.
These are some of the stone carvings around Pollok House. They are near to the urns with the faces. I've found out that they were all designed by the Scottish sculptor Hew Lorimer with the work being done by another Scottish sculptor John Marshall. At the foot of some of the pieces including the urns with the faces, it states "HL MCML MA" ie Hew Lorimer, 1950 MA (presumably Master of Arts). So that gives us who did them and when they were done but still doesn't solve the mystery of the faces! I'll keep trying.
