Hope

Back to the allotment, puzzling over the cold frame construction, no bright ideas so on with some more important work - strawberry bed renewal. It hasn’t had any real attention in a few years but today I changed all that and it’s now (hopefully) weed free, couch grass free, ancient strawberry plants free, well manured and ready for some proper berry action. There are thirty or so plants laid out here waiting to be planted. This is the before picture, I did actually plant them.
Time got away from me though so a planned outing was canned until tomorrow. A little later we decided against going out for a pub supper and instead settled on a Valentines Day Chinese carry-out and a bit of telly. Who says romance is dead?!
