House hunting

Today I had fun watching this wren closely inspecting a huge area of old willow trunk, fossicking in each crevice and working back and forth.  It is possible she was after breakfast, but I had the distinct impression she was looking for nest sites.  The birds are definitely thinking it's spring and there's a lot of whistling and chattering.  To be fair it even felt like spring to this old human - a beautiful beautiful day.

Back at home, my lovely boy, J, dropped in for a coffee on his way somewhere, and that really did make my day.  I've also walked Hazel, done the washing and just generally exhausted myself!
