On the moor

Almost a spring day up on the moor with blue skies and the muted colours of faded grass and heather around Lochnellan. Lochnellan takes its name from the near by Loch-an-Eilein which is pictured in the extra. This tiny Loch takes its name from the floating mass of vegetation which is said to be blown about the Loch by the fairies.
The plume of smoke beyond the loch is from muir burn- burning the Heather to 'improve' it for grouse.
