137/365 - Heaton Park

So the rain held off hoorah! As part of Give and Gain Day a group of us from work headed to Heaton Park for the day. The day itself sees events happening across the UK with companies sending volunteers to attend. At Heaton Park there were around 80 people from different companies, and also a group from a local school. We were tasked with sorting certain areas of the park. Our group having to thin out "bad trees" and plants to let the "good trees" grow. Using the bad trees to build up habitats for wildlife to make their new home. They let us loose with Saws! A very productive and rewarding day was had.

On the walk back to the meeting point couldn't resist taking a photo of the house. Such a shame it's all boarded up as its a pretty building.
