La Rotonde
This afternoon I met up with a woman, at the Montparnasse café "La Rotonde", who knew Judith Cladel, the woman I am researching and writing about while here. This woman's family rented an attic apartment from Cladel in the 1950s. Her father was an artist and painted Cladel's portrait, as well as many beautiful versions of the rooftop views from the apartment. This woman was a child in the 50s, of course, but still has some distinct memories of Cladel and of other neighbours in the apartment building. It was interesting to talk with her and it helped me to understand a little more about what the last years of Cladel's life were like.
Other than that, I did a morning run, then worked. J did a 56km bike ride in the Bois. More work tonight in preparation for a talk tomorrow.
