Abberton reservoir

Different trip to the one I had planned.

I was going to head to Heybridge Basin but the small one said no. He didn't want to see mud, boats and seagulls. Started to question if he really does belong to us. 

He wanted somewhere with a playground. So quick Google and discovered abberton reservoir ticked all the boxes. Play ground and cafe. Win win. Also free parking. 

We opted to pay a donation for entry and paid for the activity trail (I do like an activity trail, one of our local country parks regularly does them). It was very good and for completing the trail we got a pin badge. 

I read the clues to him and then he matched the answers, he did really well. 

He enjoyed the play ground we did that twice, we also did the cafe twice. Had the most amazing lemon cake. 

Mr Mouse asked if we wanted to stay an extra night and he would take Merlin to the vets so extra night is it which meant a quick trip to go buy knickers and some other bits. Normally I pack a spare as a 'just in case' but for some reason this time I didn't and the small one had packed his things so had a bit of an odd assortment. 

Umm now wondering if Mr Mouse just wanted an extra night for the Xbox!?
