Lesson 2
Today was a slow day. Started with a walk in the woods with Scout. She was great but then met a small dog that wanted to play and off she went. Running round trees then through brambles and crashing into logs etc. I eventually managed to stop her by jumping in front of her as she careered round the bushes and crashing into me. What was meant to be an ‘easy foot cleaning walk’ turned into mud caked up all four legs!
We then returned to the house for breakfast. Cathie wasn’t feeling great so ended up going back to bed for a bit. I did some school work and Scout slept.
Late on it was decided that we would go out swimming and that I would take Scout and the paddle board again.
We went to Port Meadow and played on the tributary there. We could see the Thames and could easily have gone into it but the tributary was more sheltered and a better play ground for Scout.
She walked straight onto the board no problem. Although she was still moving around a lot I felt happy standing up with her. There were a couple good wobbles as she pushed past me or leaned right over the side but we both stayed on. And for a while Cathie swam beside us.
We ended up paddling up the river toward the car park instead of carrying it all back.
I think Scout is getting the hang of it and quite enjoying it. :D
In the middle of our session Scout and I just had a really good play running in and out of the water. It’s just what I’ve wanted to do with her since she was a tiny pup … it’s just taken till now. But we had so much fun. I will happily come back here again (and the water just isn’t that cold! :D)
This evening Sarah and I went to her crochet group for hot chocolate, a chat and a little crochet! :)
