Tiny Eggs

All winter long the spider plants struggle to get enough light and air inside the house but they always bounce right back when we put them out in their hanging baskets on the porch. The spring air stirs new life into more than just plants and we spend the beginning of the season trying to convince various birds that there are better places to establish a new home than in the hanging pots on our porch. They do not agree and this year one of the pairs actually succeeded in placing a nest and laying eggs before we could stop it. That ends the battle and now we will have the inconvenience of the bird's mess on the floor and the loud cries of the chicks when they hatch. Worst of all is the probability of finding a dead baby chick as you climb the stairs to the front door.

I just wish they'd build in a tree like God intended.
