Tonight

Today was a particularly hot one during which we looked forward to tonight. Like this time last week we planned a barbecue. Then an amazing southerly buster came through with its wild winds followed by some rain so we moved the barbecue to the verandah. M asked the hub to play West Side Story. Love that song 'Tonight'. 

I'd been watching the bud on the Queen of the Night orchid cactus growing exponentially over the last few days. Each flower blooms for one night only and it was clear that the bud would open in all its spectacular glory tonight. 

My main is the flower, side on and half open, tonight. My extras are a front view of the same thing, and a shot when it had fully opened, a little later, tonight. Tomorrow it will look like Cinderella back from the ball.
