Stressful Day

Big Fish stuck upstairs when the lift wouldn’t work again. Texted the across the road neighbours who had already agreed to pull the red button (which is outside the house) to come and pull said button. And it didn’t work. So panic as Big Fish and I were then stuck in the lift as it had dropped slightly which meant the door wouldn’t open so we were truly stuck in the lift! Images of calling the Fire Brigade. Luckily when she pulled the red button again the lift went back up two inches so we could open the lift door. Her cousin (who has done some lifting and handling before) came and helped me carry Big Fish downstairs. After a few hours wait the Lift Repair man came and it took him two and a bit hours to get the lift to work! He was not impressed that I had taken the backlift panel off to see whether I could fix it!
We have now learnt how to get the lift down in an emergency without removing any panels ;-) Fingers crossed it doesn’t happen for another few years!!!

Stuck downstairs on mattress and sleep system as lift won’t go up. All I can say is don’t have a complex disability because you cannot rely on equipment or services. That is me being polite!
