Promenading at Hythe
This is a back-blip, using one of P's photos from Tuesday. I joined him and J for a walk along the promenade after a medical appointment at Hythe, and was immensely frustrated and cross with myself when I realised I had not replaced the battery in my camera after charging it. It's often a good place for sunsets, and this was a particularly beautiful one. The afternoon sunshine was a little hazy by the time we reached the coast, and looking out to sea we were confronted by a soft bank of thick mist, which was tinted pastel pink and mauve in the late afternoon light. The sunset, when it followed, was vividly orange with beautiful scaled patterns of cloud. The promenade was quite busy - it's a good place for people-watching, with lots of dog walkers, joggers, young people scooting or skating, couples, families, and a sprinkling of wheelchair users driving themselves or being pushed. The wide, smooth surface is perfect for wheels of all kinds. It's always felt very friendly too, a place where strangers wish each other a good day and exchange comments on the weather.
