Parallel Lines ( nearly) .....
A touch of rain last night, but needs must ,so hitched up the slurry tanker and set about emptying one side of the slatted shed. A few teething problems, but once I'd sorted things out ,the dribble bar seemed to work OK.
Slight disaster on the 3rd load when I lowered the booms. The pipes caught the handle on the filling hatch and opened it . Now have a nice big puddle of slurry in wee brother's field. As usual it's right next to the road where everyone can see it !
Watched a video on my phone that says when you fit the dribble bar it is necessary to move the handle onto a lug provided so that it points backwards instead of sideways as it may snag on the pipes when lowering the booms.
Pity the mechanic that fitted things hadn't watched the video ! When I phoned Hamilton Tractors, Davy said he had sacked him last week,so obviously not just my job a cock up !
Had the job finished by 6 pm. The nights are fairly stretching now. February is a very quick month. Will be lambing time before we know it..... Hurrah........
