These people have my back

Some I met for the first time on 14th August, others for the first time today, the majority sometime between the two. They ask me how work is going, or the job hunt, they offer helpful suggestions, places to look. They tut when I tell them what it is about my workplace that makes me unhappy. Some are really excited to see me.
Why can't my colleagues be this lovely?
