Gardens By The Bay in Singapore provided a fresh take on plant presentation inside two massive domes, one a Disney-esque Avatar theme park with roaring monsters and deep-thrumming, dramatic background music centred on a massive man-made, lushly covered mountain. The other, a more pedestrian, gentler and, to us, more appealing walk around various gardens of the world from the Americas to Australia. We were there either side of sunset as the main and first extra show.
Earlier, I had worked in the morning in the foyer of our hotel making very good friends with the lady who runs the 7-Eleven across the way as I popped in and out for coffee. Then we toured the sprawling but fascinating National Gallery and ended up the day with a walk round Little India before finally settling on a meal at Sahi Maharani, Indian restaurant, in Raffles City shopping mall.
A lovely day.
