A tale of two nuts…

showing how the different cockatoos access the seeds of the gumnuts. On the left is the fairly delicate attack at the bottom of the nut, of the white tailed black cockatoos (I think Carnabys) and the other is the munched from the top attack of the red tailed. Just as an interesting observation. Oh - and most of the parrots and cockatoos hold the nuts and seeds in their left foot. How cute is that!
