Santa Maria

Lots of us, when we’re on holiday in Madeira, take photos of the replica of the Santa Maria but usually as it’s sailing romantically around this stunning coastline.

A different friend is sharing my apartment this week and as I waited for her to arrive, I went into town for chores such as topping up the bus tickets and buying essentials.

I sat for a while near where the whale watching boats moor and took this less than romantic shot of the wooden galleon, loading up cruise ship passengers for their dolphin watching.
