Mariachi Melancholy
Was invited to a 60th birthday party by Vero, the daughter of the celebratee. A lovely affair under awnings in a very pleasant open-air garden.
It being a full on Mexican celebration, I shoudn't have been surprised to see Mariachis filing in across the lawn, after the food had been served. They were really good and, it may be corny as hell, but I love it. They whipped up quite a storm.
It was only by chance that I caught I caught this fiddle player in a more reflective mood, just beforehand he'd been winking at me (ooerr missus!).
And I doubt he was maybe wondering why he still bothered with the obvious pretence of dyeing all the hair on his head from the neck up! But you never know.
