Surprises

A grey cloud day at Hayfield.

The surprises ?

That we got out of the house at all on such an unappealing day.

Big flocks of birds 500 or was it 600 Corvids, mostly Jackdaws but there were some Rooks and a smaller number of Carrion Crow.

Around 300 Thrushes ( almost certainly all Fieldfare) flying North East straight over Kinder Scout.  It looked like migration to us but must be a little early for heading back across into a Scandinavia Winter/Spring.
