Anyone for herring

We took a look around this 1930's steam drifter. Herring were caught by either trawling or drifting. This boat is dependant on coal at £400 a ton to make it's occassional trips between Great Yarmouth and Lowestoft now a days, a round trip costing £1000 in fuel !!!!!

Free entry into the museums this evening, we went to the one in the old smoke house to see what would have happened to the Lydia Eva catch before World War II
