Feeding Time

There’s a lot of flirting in the bird world going on with this warm “winter” but when I went to see the Grebes dancing, I did not expect to see a family of four young ones already hatched (3 in extra). There are actually two on the female’s back. I loved the patterns on the water of the main grebe photo.

The second extra is of Wildmint who I met for a sunset cross country ski … big mistake … the tracks were old and icy so it was a bit of a survival course getting down. Great to see her though, we live so close to each other yet rarely see each other. We “rescued” a young man who was desperately trying to walk up a ski piste having missed the last lift. He came down the cross country piste with us. He had no idea where he was and the sun was already setting.
