A coo's view

Mr hazelh and I enjoyed a day off auditing today. Instead we set off for a walk in the beautiful Northumbrian countryside.

We parked the car in Redesmouth and then yomped across the fields and along the North Tyne to Bellingham. Here we stopped for tea on the train on the old station platform. After this we headed up to the highest point of our walk at Blakelaw Farm, then slowly wandered back to the car, following the River Rede along part of the route.

There was a wee incident at the start of our walk. When we were crossing the main road, a dog on the other side escaped its owner and ran straight into the path of oncoming traffic. There was just enough time for me to reach for the dog's collar and yank the naughty cocker spaniel to safety. 'I really thought that Cora was a goner!' said the thankful owner as I handed the dog back to her.

My blip is of the Blakemore Farm cattle in their winter housing. They have a lovely view of the hills from their 'windows'.

Exercise today: walking (19,600 steps).
