Fish (and Crab) for Breakfast
I got up in time for the sunrise this morning, but the shore was socked in by fog and the sun stayed hidden. It made for challenging light conditions.
I watched two herons fishing, this big blue and a yellow-headed night heron. They were both good hunters, precise and stealthy. They caught more than they missed.
The night heron made my Extras, and so did a bedraggled giant egret posing in the sun that eventually did shine.
Lisa is in day 2 of covid and is pretty miserable. As of now, I am showing no symptoms, but after the sunrise I stayed inside and painted all day. If I'm going to get it, I wish it would be quickly.
