Through the Blue Door
The bad weather rolled in this morning and by the time we were heading back up the road it was falling in sheets. As We approached Laurencekirk,
I could see sunlight over to the west.
We turned off the dual carriageway and headed towards Glen Esk.
As we approached Esk Woods I realized we had crossed the River Esk in a gorge.
I stopped and walked back for a blip.
The estate wall hid the river, but set into it was a small bright blue door
with a sign on it. It read:
The Burn House, North Esk "The Blue Door" River Walk
The Burn is an educational charitable Trust and Study centre in memory of James Russel killed in action 1944. You are most welcome to walk along the river path.
And so through I went, it was like the Midnight Garden.
Five minutes later the rain poured down,
but I will go back it was a stunning location and a beautiful walk.
Back blipped Friday to keep the continuity
