Majestic Magnolia

In Ayr this afternoon for a meeting and parked the car in a leafy part of the town. Walked past a house with this magnificent specimen in full bloom though, unfortunately, showing some signs of frost or other weather damage. We have wanted one of these in our garden for a long time - just haven't cleared the preferred spot for it yet. It was difficult to get a good shot - close up, the petals were too discoloured and from further back there was too much competition from cars, railings, signposts and the even bigger cherry tree beside it. In the end, opted for this shot, cropping out as much of the periphery as possible.
