An old puzzle

Lat October Archeology Scotland undertook a three day dig at one of the unexplored but ancient sites in the Stronafian Community Forest in Glendaruel , supported by enthusiastic members of the community.   

What they found - and they aren't sure yet exactly what they did find - was interesting enough to make them want to come back for a further look which is likely later this year.  

This afternoon Cathleen and I and the dogs walked up to the site and this is one of the trenches which - well, make your own supposition.    It is in a fine position over looking the glen, as my extra photo shows and would be a good place for a settlement that was keen to keep an eye on things all around !
