darn it

Sometimes I am a dummy. The little door on our washer allows you to get at a filter that you are supposed to clean every six months or so. The installer showed me how. I did that and the result was a major leak from somewhere unknown. I thought I might have broken something. The service tech checked and let me know there is a key on the filter I needed to line up before re-installing. He said it wasn't the first time finding just that. $100 for the lesson. B just shook her head at me as I confessed to my blunder.
