Rana temporaria

Mrs Catspaw was the first to notice this huge Common Frog (Rana temporaria) as we were out feeding our rabbits this morning in our back garden.

We were both of us amazed that such a large creature should take up residence in the tiny pond we created almost three years ago as a 'Lockdown' project using the base of an old rabbit cage.

We hope a mate arrives there soon as it would be lovely to see frogspawn, then tadpoles, and eventually little froglets in our pond.
