Hair day
The normal routine is hair cut x 2, coffee & cake x 2 then home, but today was more complex.
We had some errands to do, then headed to the top of town to drop off a boot full of things to St Barnabas charity shop. I say shop, but it’s more a mini warehouse. No tiny High St shop with limited range of items.
We’ve never been here before and I fully expected to be told what they wouldn’t take. My blitz on the cupboards had generated a variety of items, but they provided boxes and we put them in big storage bins on wheels. I will be better organised next time and bag things.
I had a look round to see what was there and saw these beautiful settees, just my fabric!!! No we don’t need any. There were lots of people there, donating and buying very sensibly priced items. Good to see preloved items going to new homes and funds generated for terminal care services.
We finally went to Tesco’s. I’ve only been once since pre lockdown. That was after my surgery and it wasn’t an enjoyable experience. We have had two weekly deliveries since. I enjoyed it, wider isles not too many people and a chance to look at items that you don’t routinely buy.
The news sources are reporting a shortage of fruit and vegetables resulting in rationing, but we didn’t see any empty shelves. They weren’t piled high, but as it was late afternoon it was to be expected.
