Sunbeams on Bean

We’ve been coming here, to Alvie estate, for nearly 40 years now as a family. It started with an invite for my parents to join some friends when I was tiny and we’ve continued to come nearly every year since. I even got married here!
One of our family friends, Paul has often joined us to stay and has always been accompanied by his beautiful border collies. First it was Barney (when my sister and I were children,) then Wilf once Barney had passed away and now it’s Bean. It’s lovely to see my own children enjoying the company of a dog, just as we did on our holidays with Paul. Max raced on ahead on several walks, throwing sticks for Bean and running alongside him. Anya enjoyed walking him on the lead as he pulled her up some of the steeper hills.
Here, Bean had stopped for a well deserved rest and the sun broke through the clouds just enough to frame him.
This was a new walk for us, not far from where we stay and with beautiful views over the Cairngorms and river Spey below.
