King parrot

This lovely bird has returned. He was very happy for me to potter around the garden while he feasted on the seeds of the Chinese Pistachio tree. They are found in eastern states of Australia and also New Guinea - living 25-30 years. They are gentle birds, can learn to say a few words and are not destructive like the Sulphur Crested Cockatoo. 

The females have green heads but no lady birds have been seen so far. Maybe she has babies somewhere as they breed in summer.

We have the children again tonight. Nina is away for work and Spencer works in a nearby town making school collection difficult. I made them some brownies but I was good and didn’t eat any. We also have Onken here, she is behaving better now she is older.
