Yesterday we crossed the Riff mountains stopping at a pretty but rather touristy town of Chefchaouen.  The mountain region is very fertile, we passed through green, green fields of wheat, avocado trees, olive trees, bananas growing undercover, strawberries and broadbeans.
In the towns the overwhelming colour  is blue, all around the doors and windows is painted blue, apparently because it is a colour that repels insects.
Extras- cats rule, they are well fed and indulged and steps  painted or tiles.
