Sydney is hosting WorldPride this year with 17 days of celebrations, rainbow flags (with the extra colours) flying from every second commercial premises and the main sponsor a global credit card company. The police will join Saturday’s parade while a special commission of inquiry into 88 unsolved suspected gay hate murders from 1970 to 2010 is still sitting. The protest element seems to have been forgotten.

Aftersun at the Palace Verona was unhurried, like a slow slideshow.
