Day 137 of 365 - Bond's Hospital!
Welcome to day 137 of 365 (Finished image after Editing)
The original photo was taken this morning in the city centre area of Coventry. The image is of Bond's Hospital. This is an Almshouse that was founded in 1506 by an ex Mayor of Coventry, Thomas Bond in his Will. This was for the purpose of helping members of the prestigious Trinity Guild who had fallen on hard times. Originally Bond's Hospital helped and housed only Men, while another Almshouse in the City (Ford's Hospital) originally Housed only Women. Both of the Almshouses now house a happy mix of both men and women. The Almshouses having being extended with more modern facilities next door are run by the Coventry Church Municipal Charities. The front of Bond's Hospital was rebuilt in 1832 in the more modern brickwork and Ashlar style. The original part of the building survives at the rear in a Timber Frame style. Part of the remains of the City Wall of Coventry lay within the garden at the rear of Bond's Hospital.
The building is classed as a Grade II* listed building. The Almshouse is number 11 on my list of 24 (Grade II*) Listed buildings in Coventry that I hope to photograph.
As always the shot was taken with my iPhone 5. The photo was taken using the camera App Huemore for iPhone. The original image can be found here: Unedited original Image.
First of all I used Snapseed to edit the image. The edits were made by applying the Drama 2 filter to the picture. Next I used the app called Tangled FX to brighten up the image a little using a Custom preset. I then used the App Distressed FX to add extra texture to the image using the Stirred overlay and the Lade Texture. Finally I used an app called Alt Photo to add the Old Kodachrome Vintage Color Frame to the picture.
